NBT BANK CELEBRATES NEW WEST HARTFORD BRANCH

WEST HARTFORD, CT (February 27, 2024) – NBT Bank celebrated its newly relocated retail banking office in West Hartford with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, February 21. The office, located at 68 South Main Street, offers customers expanded options, including drive-up banking, Saturday hours and a 24-hour ATM.

“The opening of our new West Hartford location reinforces NBT’s commitment to fulfilling the banking needs of Connecticut residents,” said NBT Bank President of Retail Community Banking Joseph Stagliano. “We are dedicated to providing convenient and accessible banking services while also actively supporting the communities we serve.”

NBT’s West Hartford Branch was formerly located at 433 Main Street, within the same building as the bank’s Connecticut Regional Headquarters. NBT’s regional president and members of its commercial banking and wealth management teams will continue to be based at that location.

Victor A. Gonzalez has been named branch manager for the new location. Gonzalez comes to NBT with more than 12 years of banking and management experience. Gonzalez holds a master's degree in Business Administration from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven and a bachelor's degree from Southern Connecticut State University.

At the ribbon-cutting, NBT officials also presented financial contributions to representatives from two local nonprofit organizations: The West Hartford Food Pantry (Town That Cares) and Friends of Feeney.

“These donations underscore our commitment to supporting the well-being of the communities we serve,” said NBT Bank Regional President Andreas Kapetanopoulos. “We are proud to contribute to organizations like the West Hartford Food Pantry and Friends of Feeney, which play a vital role in assisting our neighbors in need.”

“We are so grateful for NBT Bank’s generous contribution to our Town That Cares Fund which supports West Hartford residents who are experiencing crisis. Donations to Town That Cares allow us to stock our food pantry as well as provide financial assistance for critical needs such as housing or utility costs, medicine or other essentials,” said Town of West Hartford Assistant Director, Social Services, Liz Buczynski, MSW. “We look forward to building a strong partnership with NBT Bank and their West Hartford-area team.”

The West Hartford Food Pantry is a nonprofit organization maintained by West Hartford Social Services. The pantry is a vital community resource dedicated to combating hunger and providing food assistance to those in need. Serving the residents of West Hartford, Connecticut, and the surrounding areas, the West Hartford Food Pantry aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families experiencing hardship.

“We congratulate NBT Bank on their new West Hartford location and thank them for this generous donation,” said Friends of Feeney President, Eric Feeney. “As a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families who need assistance after heartbreak and tragedy, the support of local businesses is critical to achieving our mission through raising funds and building a strong network of connections. We look forward to continued collaboration as we both work to serve the local community.”

Friends of Feeney, led by Wolcott Elementary School second grade teacher Eric Feeney, is a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to children and families after heartbreak and tragedy. Originating from the devastating losses of two students' fathers, Feeney and his team organized fundraisers and events to offer immediate support. Over time, their mission evolved to encompass broader initiatives, including sponsoring opportunities for children and fundraising for local community organizations. Through their work, Friends of Feeney aims to instill the values of compassion and giving back, serving as a beacon of support for their community.
