NBT Bank Welcomes Dan Werme and Leo Cruickshank

BURLINGTON, VT (November 8, 2017) – Matt Durkee, president of NBT Bank’s New England Region, announced that Dan Werme and Leo Cruickshank have joined NBT’s commercial banking team in Burlington.

“Dan Werme and Leo Cruickshank each bring more than 20 years of local banking experience to NBT,” said Durkee. “Local knowledge and local decision-making are important in every community that NBT Bank serves. As we continue to grow our presence in Vermont, they will both be tremendous assets to our current and new business customers in the area.”

Werme was employed by Merchants Bank for 22 years and advanced to the position of regional manager in the commercial banking department. Before that, he held the positions of commercial banking officer and branch president. Werme earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Vermont and attended the New England School of Banking. He currently resides in New Haven.

Cruickshank brings 23 years of business banking and lending experience to NBT, most recently as a commercial banking officer. Prior to that, he held the positions of corporate banking administrator and branch manager with Merchants Bank. Cruickshank has trained with the American Institute of Banking, Center for Financial Training and Risk Management Association. He currently resides in Colchester.
