STRAIT JOINS NBT BANK BOARD OF DIRECTORS
NORWICH, N.Y. (FEBRUARY 5, 2010) – NBT Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Martin Dietrich announced that Russell Strait has been appointed to the bank’s board of directors.Strait is president, chief executive officer and owner of the Harrison A. Rogers Agency, where he has worked since 1970. The Norfolk, N.Y.-based insurance agency has been serving residents of the North Country for more than 100 years. From 1985 to 2001, Strait was chairman and director of First National Bank of Northern New York, which NBT Bank acquired in 2001. He has served on NBT Bank’s advisory board since 2002. He is also chairman of the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, based in Ogdensburg. He has served on the medical center’s board since 1984.
“Russ Strait has significant experience in insurance, banking and health care,” Dietrich said. “His knowledge of these fields will help us grow in the North Country and all of our markets.”
Strait, a resident of Waddington, has a bachelor’s degree in history from Colgate University. He has been involved in numerous community organizations over the years. Currently, he is director of Clark House Preservation in Waddington and a member of the finance committee for the St. Lawrence County Historical Association.
