NORWICH, NY (JANUARY 26, 2011) – NBT Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Martin Dietrich announced that United Health Services President and CEO Matthew Salanger has been appointed to the bank’s board of directors.
Since April 2007, Salanger has served as president and chief executive officer of United Health Services (UHS). The UHS network includes UHS Binghamton General Hospital, UHS Wilson Medical Center, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, UHS Delaware Valley Hospital, UHS Primary Care, UHS Medical Group, UHS Senior Living at Ideal and UHS Home Care.
Salanger also continues to serve as president and chief executive officer for UHS Hospitals, including UHS Binghamton General Hospital and UHS Wilson Medical Center, a position to which he was appointed in March 1994.

Salanger also serves on the board for the Roberson Museum & Science Center and Roberson Museum & Science Center Foundation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and was appointed a board member for the Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators for New York State by former New York State Governor David Paterson. He is also a member of the Binghamton University Council. He received his bachelor of arts degree at SUNY-Albany and his master’s degree in hospital and health administration at Xavier College.
