NBT Financial Group Hires Eaton as Trust and Investment Officer

NORWICH, NY (May 4, 2012) – NBT Financial Group Corporate Senior Vice President Timothy Handy announced that Bradley S. Eaton has joined NBT Financial Group as vice president and trust investment officer. In this position, Eaton will assist individuals and institutional clients with their investment management needs. He is based at NBT Bank’s Greater Binghamton Financial Center located at 3121 Vestal Parkway East in Vestal.

NBT Financial Group, a division of NBT Bank, provides trust, investment, insurance and retirement services to individuals and organizations in New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Massachusetts. The group had over $3.83 billion in assets under administration and management as of December 31, 2011.

Eaton has 20 years of experience in the trust and investment business. Before joining NBT Financial Group, he was senior vice president and regional executive for Chemung Canal Trust Company where he managed the company’s regional wealth management office serving clients in the Broome and Tioga County markets. Prior to that he was vice president and senior portfolio manager at M&T Bank where he oversaw the portfolio management process for the Central, Southern and Eastern regions of New York State. Previously, he held investment management positions with BSB Bank & Trust, State Employees Federal Credit Union and Trustco Bank.

A resident of Apalachin, Eaton earned his MBA at the State University of New York at Albany and his bachelor’s degree in economics at the State University of New York College at Geneseo. He is also a graduate of the New York Bankers Association Investment School and the Broome County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute. Eaton is a member of the Binghamton Sertoma Club, Binghamton University Forum and Broome County United Way Joint Bank Investment Subcommittee.
