NEWARK VALLEY (September 21, 2011) – NBT Bank of Newark Valley is collecting non-perishable food and school supplies to aid victims of recent flooding.All food items collected will be donated to local food banks at Helping Hands and Project Neighbors. School supplies will be donated to the Newark Valley Central School District. While the school district will accept any school supplies donated, they are in special need of: pocket folders, colored pencils, wide ruled loose-leaf paper, crayons, scissors and glue sticks. Donations can be dropped off at NBT Bank at 2 North Main Street in Newark Valley during normal business hours. Branch Manager Dianne Gorsline said, “Many in our community have been impacted by the recent flooding. We are honored to be able to join local relief efforts aiding our friends and neighbors.” NBT Bank provides personal banking, asset management and business services.
