NORWICH, N.Y. (May 16, 2013) – NBT Bank’s Wall of Art is featuring the photography of Kathleen Coates at the bank’s Norwich Office on South Broad Street. Her work will be on display through June. The Norwich-based photographer’s interest in photography began when she wanted to capture her son playing football. “I find photography both challenging and exciting. To be able to capture the perfect play, the great move and the ultimate touchdown was so gratifying,” she said. “Catching the player’s expressions of determination, accomplishment and disappointment hooked me for good on photography.” Currently, she has shifted the focus of her camera lens to landscapes. “Photographing nature at its best and holding onto those moments on film is priceless.” The public will be able to view a more extensive selection of Coates’ work at her new studio opening mid-June at 25-27 North Broad Street, Norwich. NBT Bank is partnering with the Chenango County Council of the Arts to highlight the creativity of area residents through the Wall of Art. Council Executive Director Victoria Kappel said: “Through her photographs Kathleen captures both the beauty and simplicity of the rural scenes and landmarks we are all familiar with in Chenango County.” NBT Bank offers personal banking, asset management and business services through a network of 161 banking locations in five states.
