NORWICH, N.Y. (JANUARY 4, 2011) – NBT Bank has hired Eileen Safford as vice president and credit manager in the Credit Administration Division. In this position, she oversees credit analysis and support related to requests for personal and commercial loans in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont. She is based in Norwich.
Safford has 20 years of financial experience. Before joining NBT Bank, she was director of finance for Catholic Charities of Chenango County in Norwich. Prior to this, she worked in credit administration for Wilber National Bank in Oneonta for 11 years. Her roles included serving as vice president of asset quality and vice president of credit risk management.

Safford, a resident of Unadilla, has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY College at Oneonta. She has completed numerous banking industry courses and is a member of the Risk Management Association. She has been involved in several community organizations, including the SUCO Children’s Center, the Upper Catskill Community Council of the Arts and the Village of Unadilla Planning Board.
