NORWICH, NY (APRIL 1, 2011) – NBT Bank Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer John Carpenter announced today that Thomas P. LaBelle has joined NBT Bank as vice president and chief commercial appraiser. In this position, LaBelle will be responsible for appraising and evaluating commercial real estate properties. He will report directly to NBT Bank Commercial Credit Deputy David May.
Prior to joining NBT Bank, LaBelle was a self-employed real estate appraiser developing appraisal reports, conducting risk analysis and feasibility studies. He previously served as a regional review appraiser for Charter One Financial Real Estate Appraisal Services, as manager and chief appraiser for Albank FSB and as senior staff appraiser for Jordan and Hafner. LaBelle earned his bachelor’s degree from Colgate University. He also holds an MAI (Member, Appraisal Institute) designation, New York State Certified Real Estate General Appraiser License and New York State Certified Real Estate Instructor, General and Residential license.
Over the years, LaBelle has been an active member in his local community. He currently serves as a member of the Town of Princetown Planning Board, is chair of the Town of Princetown Board of Assessment Review and is a member of the Schenectady Pipe Band. He and his family reside in Duanesburg.
