NORWICH, N.Y. (December 7, 2011) – NBT Bank President of Retail Banking David E. Raven announces that Daniel Kinney has been hired as Vice President and Massachusetts Area Manager. In this position, Kinney is responsible for developing and overseeing the bank’s four branches in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. He will be based in NBT Bank’s Lee Office.“We are excited to have Daniel leading our retail banking efforts in Massachusetts,” Raven said. “He is an established banker in the community and his knowledge of the local marketplace will serve our customers well as we build our presence in the region.” Kinney has 20 years of customer service and sales experience. Most recently, he was vice president and Massachusetts regional market manager for Legacy Banks in Pittsfield. In this position, he managed 12 branches in the bank’s western Massachusetts market. Prior to this role, he was responsible for Legacy Bank’s business development activity in southern Berkshire County. His experience also includes serving as regional manager and business banking officer for Citizens Bank, where he worked for five years. He also worked as national sales manager for Nathan Performance Gear, a manufacturer of specialty sporting products marketed and sold internationally. A resident of Lee, Kinney has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Westfield State University. His is also a graduate of the New England School of Banking at Williams College. He served as president of the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and was involved with the charitable giving arm of the Legacy Banks Foundation.
