NORWICH, N.Y. (June 20, 2011) - NBT Bank's Wall of Art currently features a collection of artwork by the residents of Pathfinder Village at the bank's Norwich Office on South Broad Street.
The artwork will be on display through the end of August with individual pieces changing monthly. Currently, the collection offers the public a varied selection of rural scenes and abstract pieces highlighting the talents of the artists.
According to Art Therapist Diane McNeil, residents of Pathfinder Village created the pieces as part of an enrichment program that provides them with well-rounded life experiences. "Self-expression is an important part of daily life at Pathfinder," she said. "We have a rich tradition of offering quality instruction and opportunities in the areas of music, theatre, art, gardening, adult education, sport and self advocacy."
Pathfinder Village, located in Edmeston, was founded in 1980 to provide a caring residential community offering independence to people living with Down syndrome and developmental disabilities.
For its Wall of Art, NBT Bank partners with the Chenango County Council of the Arts to provide members of the community with an opportunity to view the talents of local artists.
