NORWICH, N.Y. (AUGUST 22, 2011) – NBT Bank Capital Region President Jeff Levy announced that Charles R. Kreuter has been hired as vice president and senior commercial banking relationship manager.In this position, Kreuter is responsible for developing and managing business relationships with the bank’s commercial customers throughout the region. He is based at the bank’s Capital Region Financial Center on Wolf Road. Kreuter has 35 years of commercial banking experience. Most recently, he was vice president and senior relationship manager for HSBC Bank USA serving northeastern New York, Vermont and Massachusetts. His previous experience includes working for Key Bank, Albany, as senior vice president and senior corporate banking officer and Bay Bank, Springfield, MA, as senior vice president and corporate banking manager. He has also held management positions with Chase Manhattan Bank, Marine Midland Bank and Liberty National Bank. “Kreuter is an integral addition to our commercial banking team,” Levy said. “His extensive experience in and knowledge of the Capital Region business community will be a strong complement to our growth strategy in the Capital Region.” Kreuter, a resident of Slingerlands, has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Canisius College. He is a graduate of the executive training program at Harvard Business School and has completed post graduate studies in advanced accounting, business law and commercial finance and lending. He is active in the Capital Region serving on the boards of the Center for Disability Services, Saint Margaret’s Center Home for Children and Global Business Network.
