Phishing Alert - Spam e-mail allegedly from FDIC

NBT Bank has been advised of a spam email that is circulating heavily nationwide, through e-mail accounts.

The e-mail purports to be a "Security Update for Banking Accounts" allegedly from the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation).

The email alerts you that your ACH and Wire Transactions have been temporarily disabled for safety, asking customers to follow a link to install newest installations for a security update. This e-mail is not from the FDIC. Should you receive this email, please do not click on the link in the e-mail and delete immediately. Below is a sample of what the e-mail states.

Please remember that NBT Bank will contact you if there are ever any issues with your ACH or Wire transactions.
