It has been brought to our attention from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) that there are malicious attempts to redirect consumers to an illegitimate website.
The above-mentioned Web site, "helpwithmybank.com," is attempting to masquerade as the legitimate Web site, "helpwithmybank.gov," and contains potentially damaging malware. The illegitimate site then redirects the user to the legitimate site "helpwithmybank.gov" in an attempt to convince users that they are connecting to a legitimate site. Attempts to connect to this fraudulent Web site could expose the user to harmful malware. The website www.helpwithmybank.gov is a site dedicated for consumers to find answers and solutions for customers of National Banks.
Be aware that this re-direction most likely hosts malicious code and software. Should you or any customers need to visit the website be sure to always verify the website you are visiting before clicking on any unknown links. Always be suspicious to small deviations from website names which you visit frequently. For example as indicated above, the masqueraded site changed the .gov to .com.
